Our Story
About What We Do & How We Got Here
I’m Joe Macias, business owner of JM Fluid — it’s nice to meet you! For 10 years, I toiled away in the construction industry before landing the opportunity to work at Holt Caterpillar, where I acquired most of my mechanical skills. I started in the cylinder shop building and repairing cylinders, and it wasn’t long before I realized I was mechanically inclined. In that same year, I was promoted to the pump shop. I really enjoyed working in the pump shop because of the complexity of my projects and the challenges of working with hydraulic components.
I received numerous certifications here, including Basic Hydraulics, test bench operator, failure analysis, and hydraulic hammer repair. I’m also NPK and Caterpillar hammer factory trained.
It sounds like a dream job, and in many ways, it was. But even though I quickly climbed the ranks and was thrilled to be working at Holt Caterpillar, I always felt something was missing. I wanted more for myself, but more importantly, I realized my newfound skill set could be put to better use by serving the front lines of the people who used the same parts and equipment I had learned to repair.
I helped my brother from 2010-2015 to build his company, JAG Hydraulics, before finally starting my own business to help companies with the two biggest challenges they face every day: money and time. I opened my doors in January 2016 in the south region of Dallas due to the high demand and growth of hydraulic companies.
One-Stop Shop
Today, my repair and hydraulic part replacement shop in Dallas provides everything from hydraulic component repair and replacement to custom hydraulic hoses and fittings. Aside from being a service provider, I also serve my customers with consultant-level insights to help you diagnose issues and understand the problem and viable solutions before making a decision. Having been in the construction industry myself, I understand the challenges and needs of my customers with first-hand experience and can appreciate the sense of urgency that comes with your projects.
